On Saturday April 24th we met for the first Open Space of the year, a new space for exchange and co-construction among all of us who are part of Pyxis. More than 187 people connected from the 7 locations to tour the ecosystem units, take stock of the year and exchange on different topics.
Within the 6 tables that this #PyxisOpen had, we talked about the future at work, assertive communication, and soft skills training. We also talked about the outlook for 2021, the creation of video games and issues related to our gender commission.
To add views of the Open Space, we invite you to go through the perspectives of the Board of Directors, Communications and Human Development by Gerardo Valeri, Lucía Massa and Natalia Martínez, respectively.
Gerardo Valeri and Pyxis diversity.
Gerardo Valeri is a member of the Pyxis board of directors. For him, the Open Spaces are »moments of team bonding, of looking ahead, of sharing dreams». He highlights the Open Space as a space for co-construction and encounter that is formed. For Gejo, the diversity of opinions is an added value in these spaces, in the different ways of feeling them, in the different opinions. As always and fortunately, there will be many opinions and different ways of feeling the Open», says Gejo.
About the proposed ideas, Gejo highlights the involvement of the team when designing the future work at the level of the whole ecosystem, incorporating their diversity of visions to the daily functioning of Pyxis. He also highlights the inclusion of other sensitivities, such as equity and gender issues, showing the important issues that cross the team.
Lucía Massa: going out with these ideas »is a luxury and a commitment to the future».
From Communication, the organization of the Open is lived with a lot of intensity in tasks such as the coordination of the event, the support to the platform of topics, the production of institutional content and the post Open Space process.
Virtuality allows us to eliminate the physical distance between venues and feel united despite connecting from dozens of different cities around the world,» says Lucía Massa, head of communications. Lucía underlines the potential of Open as a «tool for co-construction» of the company’s culture. At the same time, she is aware that each Pyxian experiences the Open Space in his or her own way, with his or her own expectations and emotions.
She highlights as an achievement the large number of SMART ideas that emerged in the different exchange spaces. They were rich and productive discussions and spaces», says Lucía, where each Pyxian committed not only to the topic to be discussed, but also to move forward with each of the proposals.
Natalia Martínez and the Pyxis thermometer.
For the Human Development team, instances such as the Open Space are extremely important. The space for meeting and building strengthens the human role of all those who are part of Pyxis. For Natalia Martinez, head of Human Development, the Open Space is more than a space where we build projects and give our ideas some thought. In these activities we get to know what the other teams are up to, what moments they are going through or what experiences are being lived by people with whom we do not share our daily work. It gives visibility on various topics that many people are far away from on a daily basis, and that talk about how the company is doing, what things matter,» says Natalia, understanding the Open Space as a »thermometer» space, where you can measure not only the team’s interest in different topics, but also the global perspectives of the company.
Knowing these three different perspectives on the Open allows us to find the diversity, richness and plurality of the biggest event in our ecosystem.
