On Saturday 7th we met virtually more than 150 Pyxians in a new Open Space, an exchange event with the whole team to know how we are doing and to nourish ourselves with everyone’s contributions. In Pyxis we focus on people and we bet on enjoyable professional work as a global goal of the organization. The Open Space is a valuable tool to listen to each other, propose new ideas and promote co-construction.
What is Open Space?
It is a meeting that has several objectives: to provide information about the company and share future perspectives, to generate a space for sharing, interacting and getting to know each other better. It is also a fundamental space to propose new ideas and continue building Pyxis among all of us. It is an event that helps us to protect our culture and take care of ourselves.
Normally we hold two events a year in person. This year, adapting to the new normality, we held them virtually via zoom and with great participation of the team.
Work tables
The main differential of the Open is that the agenda is put together by the participants of the event. For this purpose, we developed an application that allows us to add the topics we are interested in discussing and debating. We then vote on the topics that will finally become part of the agenda according to the time available.
In this instance, the most voted topics included: sharing ideas for the end-of-year party, adapting to the new normality, talking about motivation and how to professionally satisfy our basic desires, how to reconcile personal care with the vocation of service, integral personal care in a pandemic context, sharing news about the different business units, among others.
In the post-event, we took into account and analyzed the suggestions and opportunities for improvement raised by each member of the team in the different working groups.
Thanks to the Open Spaces we have achieved a lot of things. For example, our Social Responsibility process, a research and innovation center called Pyxis Research, an exchange event with the technological community called Pyxis Open Tech, among others. These meetings also provide us with a lot of inputs that we use every semester to review and monitor tools and processes of Human Development, Internal Communication and Backoffice in general.
