Diego Sastre, director of Pyxis, was one of the ambassadors of the national mission led by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) at Expo Dubai 2020.

Some 130,000 daily visitors from 190 different countries attended this unprecedented event in the Arab world, which took place from December 6 to 11, and was the ideal space to showcase talent to the world, make contacts and generate business opportunities.

Sastre, who was among the 15 Uruguayan representatives of the sector, highlighted the effort of CUTI as a business collective, which allows to make visible the capabilities and potentials of our country in an epicenter of great magnitude for ICT.

«The proposal that the CUTI ecosystem brings to exchange with the Dubai ecosystem is super aligned and updated. We are talking about the same topics, with the same possibilities.»

He also valued the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the figure of the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Alvaro Ceriani.

On the other hand, he highlighted the professionalism and quality of the Uruguayan delegation at Expo Dubai, as well as the strength with which Uruguay is seen worldwide: «our talent and conditions are at the level to be part of this scenario. Once again, we confirm that Uruguay can speak on an equal footing, transmit capabilities, make them available and be very well received».

He stressed the importance of having participated in two major events such as the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Asian Business Leadership Forum, key opportunities to open new markets.

«We made a number of contacts with the local technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem. There are great possibilities for joint work, development of ventures or products, as well as the search for investments», he closed.
