Like the early alchemists, who dared to wonder about the principles of matter, and the mysteries of the universe, we will question the principles of Artificial Intelligence. Together we will demystify it, learn more about it and catch up with the advances that occur daily in this fascinating world,» writes the IDATHA team in the welcome to its subscribers.
With several initiatives aimed at generating knowledge and sharing their experience (such as Idatha Academy), the IDATHA team redoubles the bet with a monthly newsletter specialized in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and technologies associated with these topics. A team that does not rest and permanently goes out of the comfort zone with a thirst for more knowledge and permanent updating.
We talked to Emiliano Viotti, editor in chief of Alquim(IA), to tell us more about the initiative.
For companies like IDATHA, which due to the market niche in which they operate need to be constantly researching and training in new technologies and ways of doing things, a newsletter like Alquim(IA) appeared as a way to make visible, to the outside of the organization, the effort made to keep up to date.
«It allows us to show ourselves as a company at the forefront of technology. It is also an excellent tool for sharing knowledge and experiences within the team,» says Emiliano.
The newsletter has several objectives:
Alquim(IA) already has more than 600 subscribers and has been generating very good repercussion in local media. «One of the articles we published exclusively for Alquim(IA), in which we addressed the problem of colorizing old photos using Deep Learning, had a great echo in the local press. It generated articles in the newspapers El Pais and El Observador, on the radio in Hijos de Punta and an interview for the Sunday edition of Teledia (Channel 4)», says Emiliano.
The AI model used by Idatha that enabled this functionality was based on a public repository of 15 million images. You can access the campaign on Twitter #ponelecolor to see the impressive results.
For example, to make the colored Palazzo Salvo look like it came out of a photo taken by a modern camera, the algorithm received information from thousands of old and modern buildings, in different colors and shapes, with different light, among other factors.
The IDATHA team is very excited to continue generating quality content and contributing to the Machine Learners community in Latam. «In turn, we want to boost the generation of technical blogpost type content by our team and use Alquim(IA) as another medium to disseminate them.»
