On August 20 we took part as sponsors of the SAP NOW AI Tour Mexico, at Expo Santa Fe, Mexico City. The event brought together more than 3,000 business leaders and reached its 15th edition as one of the key gathering points for understanding how technology is redefining organizational competitiveness. If in previous editions the conversation centered on mobility, cloud, or data, this year the focus shifted: the question is no longer whether AI has a place in Mexican companies, but how to deepen its integration so it generates measurable value.
That was the central idea of the opening keynote: generative AI has moved past the experimental stage, and the challenge now is embedding it effectively into real business processes. SAP’s argument is that the AI model on its own is already a commodity; the differentiator lies in combining it with enterprise data, context, and the ability to execute actions -something SAP is well positioned for given its presence in critical processes like finance, procurement, supply chain, and HR.
That’s where Joule comes in, SAP’s AI assistant, designed not just to look up information but to execute actions within a process. The evolution SAP is proposing moves from a single-purpose copilot to task-specific specialized agents, then to agents that collaborate with each other, and, as the horizon, increasingly autonomous processes.
In the session we attended on the SAP Business AI Platform, the approach was more grounded: the problem with bringing AI to production isn’t the model, it’s the data and integration ecosystem it has to operate in. That’s why 95% of companies have some AI initiative underway, but many aren’t achieving the impact they expected.
SAP’s response rests on three pillars: agents and workflows, a semantic layer (Knowledge Graph) that gives those agents real business context, and governance over what they’re allowed to do. The most concrete thing we saw was Joule Studio 2.0, a demo of end-to-end development in natural language, from idea to code to deployment, with an architecture open to different models (Claude today, with ChatGPT and Gemini on the roadmap) and to tools like n8n or MCP Servers.
Two ideas ran through the entire event: an open ecosystem, where SAP doesn’t impose its own models but instead provides the context, process, and governance layer so each company can choose its own technology; and responsible enterprise AI, with permissions and information access tied to each user’s role.
We’ve been working with SAP technologies since 2012 and have been certified partners since 2015. Today we’re a Top 5 SAP CX Preferred Partner in Latin America, with end-to-end support across more than 20 countries and a team of more than 60 professionals holding more than 70 certifications in SAP Commerce and CX.
In that context, SAP recognized us during the event with a plaque as a longstanding partner in the region, a gesture that confirms something we’ve held for years: our relationship with SAP isn’t a one-off, it’s long-term. And everything raised in the keynote and the sessions, agents, business context, governance, data integration – is exactly the ground we’ve been covering with our clients all along.
