In September at Pyxis we celebrate the month of diversity. Like different social and governmental organizations, during the month of September we will concentrate different actions with the focus on deepening gender and diversity issues. This month coincides with a process that our ecosystem has been going through. At the beginning of the year we created a gender commission from where we initiated different lines of action. One of them is focused on gender and diversity and was the one that took the initiative to develop a series of internal and external actions within the framework of September. These actions include workshops and trainings, the elaboration of material on this topic, the characterization of how dissidence is experienced in the ecosystem and different activities and processes related to diversity.

Lía Rivero and Bruno Fernández, members of Pyxis who are collaborating in these processes, agree that this month is a great achievement. Both are enthusiastic about this line of work. For Lía it is »super important that Pyxis embraces the cause in this month that means so much to many of us, that opens spaces for visibility, awareness and reflection». Both understand that there is still a long way to go and that, in that sense, it is fundamental that the organization »listens» and »understands» the need to give space and visibility to this issue. »It speaks of recognizing the place we are in to start this process,» Bruno points out. He adds that »there are many realities that are still foreign to Pyxis, but actions like this demonstrate an interest in engaging with them.» Lía affirms that this »is a big step in the construction of a more enjoyable work environment for everyone».

With these actions Pyxis reaffirms its role as an agent of social transformation, assuming concrete actions in the construction of a community closer to inclusion, diversity and coexistence.
