Nadro needed to enhance their ecommerce site speed in order to increase usage of it as an efficient sales channel. We analyzed the bottlenecks, prepared a quickwin to improve and a long term solution with a middleware between commerce and ERP that gave Nadro 90% increase in their Ecommerce Revenue.
Challenge
Since pricing is a key attribute when it comes to their business, having a synchronous pricing functionality with ERP is a must. This turns the ERP into a bottleneck when retrieving pricing for queries such as searches, autocomplete suggestions or product detail page having average load times of up to 43 seconds for one search
Our Solution
Pyxis initially analyzed the issue and found the bottleneck, then proposed a cut off of autocomplete pricing functionality but lifesaving solution to move foward, while this was on production it developed a microservice that obtains all product-customer-pricing combinations form ERP every a defined time and serves that to the ecommerce storefront. That microserves saves all the information on a Redis database to increase read write speed and have a long term solution.
With Pyxis, we have a real partner, because we can trust that the proposal will be focused in your necessities, but in a confident relationship, and they never forget the full picture. The knowledge and honesty in the daily relationship, is unbeatable. Carlos Flores Ceballos, Chief Innovation Officer at Nadro
The results
Thanks to this microservice, that 43 seconds went down to 1.2 seconds, AOV (average order value) up to 10% and finally an increase of the number of orders from 7000 to 12000 in a week.
Technology
The Nadro Pricing Cache solution needed to run as a microservice feeded by another system and integrating synchrnously with SAP Commerce Cloud only for non cart logic. This meant work in the new solution as well as in the SAP Commerce Cloud implementation
