Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for talents who:

Will design, build, and evolve robust, scalable, and secure data solutions. The role combines strong hands-on technical execution with leadership, involvement in architecture decisions, and close collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams.

This person will play a key role in defining and evolving data platforms, driving solutions that create business value and run reliably across different contexts and challenges.

The main challenge will be balancing the delivery of production-ready solutions with a holistic architectural vision, making sure data platforms are scalable, maintainable, and sustainable over time.

Responsabilities:

• Design and implement architectures and pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain analytics solutions following data engineering best practices.
• Ensure data quality, security, observability, and governance standards.
• Take part in gathering business needs and translate requirements into sustainable technical solutions.
• Lead technical decisions and contribute to defining architectural standards and guidelines.
• Work alongside clients and cross-functional teams, clearly communicating options, risks, and recommendations.
• Conduct technical reviews, mentoring, and knowledge transfer, fostering the team’s continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying data solutions in production environments, including:
  • Designing and operating data pipelines.
  • Data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration processes.
  • Batch and/or streaming processing.
  • Data modeling.
• 3+ years working as a Senior Data Engineer or Lead Data Engineer, including:
  • Technical leadership of initiatives and teams.
  • Working directly with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Designing Data Lake, Lakehouse, and/or Data Warehouse architectures.
  • Applying best practices in Git, CI/CD, observability, security, data quality, and data governance.
• Advanced technical knowledge of Python, Apache Spark/PySpark, and SQL.
• Strong command of at least one public cloud:
  • AWS (Redshift, QuickSight, Kinesis, Athena, S3, SageMaker, DynamoDB, Glue, DMS, Lake Formation, Lambda, and Step Functions).
  • Azure (Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Synapse Analytics, Data Explorer, Data Factory, Stream Analytics, ADLS Gen2, and Azure Functions).
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (completed or close to completion).
• English level B2 or equivalent.
• Based in Uruguay.

Nice to have:

AWS, Azure, or Databricks certifications.
