Solution: PIMs

Industry: Electronic payment transactions

Location: Uruguay

Our client, a global leader in point-of-sale solutions, turned to us for the development of PIM solutions used in transactions between merchants and processors. Our team developed and followed the life cycle of several PIM projects.

Initial situation
The project started in 2015 with the management of a development and support project for different modules used in the processing of merchant transactions (PIM). The project had three renewals in 6-month contracts and culminated in November 2016.

Solution
When a merchant performs an electronic transaction through sales terminals (POS), the operation is finalized thanks to certain solutions.

From the acronym “Processor Interface Module”, Pyxis developed modules that respond to the financial processes that exist to process credit card payments. This software is an intermediate module that acts as a “translator”. The commercial transaction arrives at the POS and the gateway receives it and refers it to the corresponding PIM. The PIM takes the information and sends it decoded to the processor, which validates the transaction and sends it back.

The processor is in charge of connecting the different entities involved in an online payment through a credit or debit card.

Team
Thanks to the success of its development and implementation and the quality of service, our team was deeply involved in other modules of major importance and was part of the migration process undertaken by the client. Together with the client’s team, we were involved in development projects at different stages, including reception, processing and validation of transactions, and detection and solution of traffic performance problems.
